PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

GIS Administrator for the US Air Force's GIS platform (GeoBase) at Osan Air Force Base, South Korea. This role involved management of the enterprise GIS environment (multiuser Oracle RDBMS and ArcGIS Server instance), static map creation, data analysis and web mapping application creation and management.

To enforce QA/QC with editing workflows, I established a versioned database environment, which facilitated more frequent and efficient data edits, helping to clear a backlog going back several years. In addition to versioning implementation, I conducted standard multiuser geodatabase management involving user privileges, data permissions, topologies, etc. Database maintenance schedules were also implemented to ensure quality performance of the geodatabase.

In order to disseminate facility information throughout the various departments on base, I published and maintained ArcGIS Server map services and managed JavaScript web map viewer sites to ensure said departments can access the information they require. For the ArcGIS Server portion, I published, updated and troubleshot ArcGIS map, image and feature services. Regarding the JavaScript map viewers, I frequently created additional map viewer sites, to provide additional functionality not originally present.

Using Python/ArcPy, I developed multiple scripts which automated numerous tasks, allowing all of the GIS staff to more efficiently spend their time on other duties.

Along with the above, I provided instruction and technical support to the Air Force GIS technicians to aid them in their GIS skills development and map creation for the customer base.

Server Support Analyst
