Your Future in this Role:
The IT Division has access to numerous training opportunities, which include peer, industry, vendor, and official Pierce County training as well as access to established procedures, standards, practices, and system documentation. You will report to the GIS Solutions Supervisor of Spatial Services and belong to a team of 4 which includes GIS developers and administrators. As one of three dedicated developers in the Spatial Services Unit, you’ll play a key role in providing essential GIS services and applications at Pierce County.
Core Daily Responsibilities:
-GIS web application development and system integration/implementation.
-Application management including design, development, implementation and maintenance, documentation and use of code repositories, creation and maintenance of procedural documentation, training for user department staff and user support as needed.
-Program, maintain, enhance, integrate and support GIS business systems/programs.
-Successfully troubleshoot system and application issues and identify creative solutions to answer needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications IT GIS Programmer / Engineer 1: ($37.15/hr. - $53.34/hr.)
-Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, Geography or related field AND
-Two or more years of Information Technology/GIS experience
-Additional education or experience may substitute for the recruiting requirements.

Minimum Qualifications IT GIS Programmer / Engineer 2: ($86,940.60/yr.– $125,920.67/yr.)
-Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, Geography or related field AND
-Four or more years of Information Technology/GIS experience
-Additional education or experience may substitute for the recruiting requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Demonstrated experience and knowledge with Esri’s GIS platform.
-Application development experience in the following programming technologies:
-JavaScript API 4.x, TypeScript, Esri Experience Builder developer
-Previous JavaScript API 3.x & Esri WebAppBuilder developer edition will be considered.
-Python and Esri ArcGIS Pro based ArcPy library (ArcMap will be considered).
-C# and Esri ArcGIS Pro .Net SDK.
Special Requirements and /or Qualifications:
-Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
-A valid Washington State driver's license may be required when travel is required of the position.
