Juanita Van Zyl

Essex, MA, USA

I hold a B.Sc. degree in Geo-Informatics from the University of Pretoria and have accumulated 20 years of professional experience across Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, research, administrative coordination, and client services. My GPA was 3.08 for my university degree, with steady improvement over the years. My South African high school GPA was the equivalent of 3.63 on the U.S. scale, with all subjects completed on Higher Grade.

My early career focused on agricultural and environmental monitoring through remote sensing, including leading the CRID project at the Agricultural Research Council and managing GIS tools and stakeholder relations at Manstrat Agricultural Intelligence Solutions. I have presented at international conferences such as IGARSS and co-authored peer-reviewed publications.

Since immigrating to the U.S., I’ve adapted my skills to administrative, educational, and customer-facing roles—currently working as a Community Associate at Regus Ipswich, managing office operations and client services. I’ve also worked as a school monitor and retail associate, reflecting my adaptability and strong interpersonal skills.

My technical proficiencies include ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, QGIS, Microsoft Office, and AI-supported workflows. I'm a strong communicator with proven leadership, project management, budgeting, and public speaking skills. I am permanently based in Massachusetts with valid U.S. work authorization and a state driver’s license.
